Here’s an explosive conversation between two of the most energized public figures on earth: Tony Robbins and Gary Vaynerchuck.
There’s a few very important gold nuggets in there. I’ll highlight the points raised that really jumped out at me.
Tony Robbins on investing [link]: The number one financial decision, you have to become an owner instead of someone who is constantly utilizing products. So instead of owning all Apple products out there, actually own Apple stock.
Tony Robbins on gratitude via priming [link]: Most people think their thoughts are theirs; in reality, their thoughts have been primed by their environment. That’s why we take the time to create great environments that in turn make us perform at our best. He then goes on to talk about his 10 minute morning priming routine which I’ve written about in a separate post. The sense of gratefulness prevents him from feeling fearful and unhappy.
Finally, Tony ends with some great advice on fulfillment [link], saying that success without fulfillment is worthless. Money will not make you happy. It will give you resources and tools but your 2-million-year-old brain is always looking for what’s wrong because it’s trying to help you survive. If you want to override that thinking you have to learn what fulfills you most. If you discover that and pour all your energy into it forget the money, that will be fine, most importantly you will have an extraordinary life.
At the very end of the show, Gary asks Tony to set a question for the audience to respond to. His question is: “What is your definition of a magnificent life?” His personal answer? It’s a good one: “Life on your terms”. That answer certainly resonates with me, but the question itself is well worth spending a few minutes with.
