So it’s been two weeks since I started my fitness challenge already, and I’m already enjoying the positive effects.
Here are my recorded measurements after a constant two weeks of training.
|Week 0||Week 1||Week 2|
Some general observations:
Although I’m at the gym 5 days a week, I don’t feel it’s a chore. On the other hand, I am really enjoying finishing off the day with a good workout. In the past I used to struggle to go 4 times to the gym, especially when I trained alone. I’m sure that the fact that I have a trainer I trust with me most of the days helps a lot. It made me think about the importance of mentorship when we start something new, and I’ll try to write another article about this topic specifically sometime soon.
I fit in a football match last week, which was very satisfying. I absolutely love playing football, but I’ve been nursing a niggling groin injury for the past 2 years. Luckily, the stretching I’m doing after each gym session seems to be doing the trick, as I didn’t feel any discomfort during the last match.
With regards to the changes in measurements during the last two weeks, the most important movement was in the waist measurement, as well as a slight decrease in weight.
I discussed the measurements with Andrew earlier today. Considering that I am in the initial stages whereby we are still being prudent on weight and intensity, he feels that I am on the right track. Moving forward he foresees bigger drops in weight as we gradually up the cardio frequency and weight intensity at the gym.
The slight decrease in chest measurement probably means that some fat around the underarm area has decreased.
All in all, I’m very satisfied and happy with the way things are going. I’ve spent the last two days inside nursing a fever, and I can’t wait to get back to my training schedule. Next update in a week’s time!
