Finding a trustworthy mechanic or detailer in Barcelona takes trial and error. After years of living here and owning cars that need regular attention, these are the places I’ve found and can recommend.

Mechanics

Dasercars — Full-service workshop in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Rambla de la Marina, 371) with over 20 years of experience. They cover general mechanics, bodywork, electronics, and tire changes. Not the cheapest, but they emphasize quality. Open Mon-Fri 9:00-19:00, Sat 9:00-13:00.
Taller Francisco Cabezas Ordóñez (Google Maps) — Old-school neighborhood mechanic on Carrer Luca, 6. No website, no social media — the kind of place you find through word of mouth. Reliable for straightforward mechanical work. Phone: 932 119 303.
Taller Sergi Castan — Independent Porsche specialist with 25+ years of experience and the highest Porsche certification (Zertifizierter Porsche Techniker). Located in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi (Carrer de Bertran, 126). Google rating: 4.6/5. Reviewers praise the honesty and competitive pricing compared to the official Porsche center. Also works on other brands.

Spray Painting

Talleres Albigesos S.C.P. — Traditional body and paint shop in the La Salut neighborhood of Gràcia (Carrer Albigesos, 13). No website, runs entirely on local referrals. Open Mon-Fri 08:00-13:30 and 15:30-19:00. Phone: 932 102 804.

Tires and Punctures

Rodi Motor Services — Large Catalan chain with 130+ workshops. Multiple Barcelona locations including Passeig Fabra i Puig, Travessera de les Corts, and a newer 2,300 sqm center at Carrer Viladomat 167 in Eixample. Good for a quick tire fix or puncture repair (free if the tire was purchased and installed at Rodi). Not the place for a relationship with your mechanic, but reliable for tire work.

The detailing scene in Barcelona is dominated by Ukrainian and Russian operators, and in my experience, they consistently deliver the best results. Here are the places I know:

Hanna Car Wash Ronda — The most established car wash in Barcelona (35+ years). Google rating: 4.3/5 from 1,100+ reviews. 23 self-service washing boxes with free vacuuming, plus a tunnel wash. Multiple locations including Carrer de Collserola, 18 and Carrer de Valencia, 376. Open Mon-Sat 8:00-20:45, Sun 9:00-20:45. Quick, affordable, but not gentle on paintwork over time — I’d avoid the tunnel wash for well-maintained paint.
