How big (or small) or useful is eBay.es?

From taking a look at eBay Spain, it does not seem to be used as much as in the US, UK or Germany…

    Your opinion?

Wallapop is much better. eBay isn’t big in Spain.

I am selling ( nearly) all my treasured books which are in perfect condition. (Like new). I say nearly because there are some l could never part with unless under torture!) l’ve been selling on momox for derisory prices but l really need the money ( and space) l live in Spain but am trying to find a way to move back to France although l am English.
Anyway….! The advantage of momox is that you don’t have to photograph your books, just scan the IBSN. The trouble is, l have a collection of fiction which l bought ( online) when l really needed to escape from reality. They are the twilight series and the fifty shades books. Momox won’t take them. I was surprised because they are still ( in my humble opinion) well written if not great literature, and l thought them still popular. British sites won’t buy books from Spain. I ‘m at a bit of a loss! Sorry for such a long message

Thank you. Very useful information. I noticed that several items on Wallapop are flagged as ‘reserved’ – what does that entail? How can one reserve an item, and does reserving an item mean that it cannot be sold to another Wallopop user?

It means that the seller has reached an agreement with a buyer and the item is pending payment. If the payment is not received the item will go back on sale.

Hi, not sure my question will be read as the post is quite old, but I’m new to wallapop and often it dos say reserved, but there still is the buy option which goes all the way to the end? Does it mean you can still buy it, for example because that the seller has put a reserved on it but the buyer hasn’t bought on agreed time or seller forgot to take the tag of? Would be weird you’d receive a message afterwards? I would expect when it says reserved the buy option should be blocked?
Hope someone can help, Google couldn’t unfortunately.

Usually they are just waiting for the buyer to go and collect it, so there’s a small chance they won’t do that, in which case the item will be put back on sale.

Wallapop is bullshit: 9 out of 10 sellers never respond. No phone numbers added to ads, to add number – need to buy pro account, how? god only knows. Article that puts wallapop at #1 is probably as useless as wallapop itself

Seems like you’ve been very unlucky. In Barcelona I have almost always gotten a reply, people are generally courteous and I’ve been able to sell many unwanted items with no bad interactions so far. Maybe it varies from city to city but my experience has been excellent over the past 3 years.

I think Wallapop is the best one. It has tools that make them the best app when it comes down to used items.
