Frost controls 12V portable compressor fridges over Bluetooth. It works with fridges built on the Alpicool controller platform, which are sold under Alpicool, Vevor, Brass Monkey and many other brand names. Frost is an independent app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by any fridge manufacturer.
Getting help
Email [email protected]. Tell me your fridge’s brand and model, what you expected, and what happened. If the app is failing to connect, that plus a screenshot is usually enough.
The app can’t find my fridge
Only one phone can hold the fridge’s Bluetooth connection at a time. If another app is connected to it (including the manufacturer’s own app), your fridge stops advertising and no other app can see it. Disconnect and force-quit that app, or switch its Bluetooth off.
If it still doesn’t appear, power the fridge off and on. That drops any stale connection and it will start advertising again.
Pairing
Tap your fridge in the list, then press the SET button on the fridge itself when the app asks. You have 30 seconds. Some fridges beep when the pairing command arrives.
Battery protection, and why it matters
Your fridge cuts the compressor when its supply voltage drops, so it cannot flatten the battery it is plugged into. On a 12V supply the levels are: Low cuts off at 9.6V and restarts at 10.9V, Mid at 10.1V and 11.4V, High at 11.1V and 12.4V.
Use High when the fridge is running off your car’s starter battery: it stops while there is still enough charge to start the engine. Use Low or Mid on mains power or a dedicated leisure battery, where there is no engine to strand you.
My fridge has two compartments but only one temperature
Many “dual zone” fridges have one compressor and one thermostat. The second compartment has no sensor and no separate control: it simply tracks the first one and runs warmer, staying above freezing. Frost shows that compartment as an estimate rather than pretending to measure it.
Fridges that genuinely have two independent zones report both, and Frost gives you a control for each.
Alerts stop when I walk away
These fridges have no wifi and no cloud. Everything happens over Bluetooth, so Frost can only watch your fridge while your phone is within range of it. It says so honestly rather than showing you a stale number as if it were live.
Trying it without a fridge
On the pairing screen, tap “Try demo mode” to explore the whole app against a simulated fridge. No hardware and no Bluetooth permission required.
Privacy
Frost has no account, no analytics, and makes no network requests. Nothing leaves your phone. See the privacy policy.
